Introduction

Set in the unruffled hamlet of Frithsden, nr Berkhamsted; surrounded by National Trust woodland, The Alford Arms is a pretty Victorian pub, full of surprises. The flower filled garden overlooks the village green, which is a haven of tranquillity and historic 
The understated style of both the dining room and bar is achieved with a mix of furniture and pictures, mostly found in the salerooms at Tring. Rich colours and fabrics provide a simple backdrop for the interesting collection of characters we have collected over the years. The buzz of their conversations, with a little Jazz in the background, is what we're all about. Always a pub first and foremost, there is something for everyone, which hopefully will justify the effort of trying to find us! Of course, then you have to find a space for the car, but your careful and considerate parking will always be appreciated by both us and our neighbours.
Our seasonal menu and daily specials balance originality along with more traditional fare and we are firm believers in using fresh, local produce wherever possible. Food with a smile on it's face! So whether you want a slap up meal with top-notch wine, a few pints with your mates or just space to watch the world go by, you will always feel welcome. (We've even installed free WiFi for those of you who are in "important meetings all afternoon"!)
