Just a few pointers to help you get started. Our Christmas menu runs for lunch and dinner from Monday 1st December until Wednesday 24th December, except Sundays. The Christmas menu runs alongside our Regular menu and seasonal specials.

You will first need to make your reservation by telephone on 01442 864480 as unfortunately we are unable to take bookings online. Please specify the time you would like to sit down to eat, although we would love to see you all for drinks first. A deposit is not necessary as we are trusting bunch, but please notify us at the earliest opportunity of any alterations to your booking, as last minute changes may be charged.

Christmas Parties

  • We can take bookings for parties up to a maximum of 22. (Parties over x12 will be seated on more than 1 table, but close together)
  • Parties of more than 12 can only choose from our Christmas menu.
  • If your numbers fall between 2 and 12 people you have the choice of either our Christmas or Regular menus. However, we prefer that you do not mix and match between them.
  • For parties booking off the Christmas menu, all choices must be pre-ordered (even if your party is small).
  • We will always try to accommodate special requests, so please let us know if you have any particular dietary requirements or just don't like something.
  • There is an order form, which includes the Christmas menu, wine and water to start you off and special requests. This can be emailed, faxed or posted back to us.
  • We will need confirmation on numbers together with your menu choices and your initial wine and water order at least two weeks prior to your reservation.


    • Regular Parties

  • Bookings for up to 12 people who don't want anything to do with crackers or holly may choose our Regular menu and seasonal specials, which will be available on the day.
  • Just let us know which option you wish to take.


    • Taxi's

  • As it's party month cabs are in short supply. We recommend that you pre-order your cab, departing from The Alford no later than midnight. Rather than supply you with an endless list of firms that we use, if you need help, just give us a call.
  • If coming under your own steam, please note that parking is limited, so please share cars and consider our neighbours by parking carefully.
  • Please don't leave any valuables in your cars. We are happy to look after them for you in the pub
