Head Chef: Justin Flodman

With Italian and Hertfordshire blood in his veins, Richard is our cosmopolitan General Manager. He's been with us for a good couple of years now, so the "Alford" ways are second nature to him and Richard is a naturally warm host. He's a bit of a dancer, but you'll have to ply him with a few sherries to get a demonstration!

Richard's number two, Darren always has a smile on his face and nothing ever seems to be too much trouble, but even though they are such fantastic chaps, we wouldn't be without our lovely Duty Manager Liz, who works hard to keep both "her" boys in check!

Justin is our tall and gorgeous Head Chef. His food is completely scrummy and previously he worked in London at some top notch restaurants including Mirabelle and The Belvedere! His boisterous team has become expert at combining volume with quality and there is nothing they like better than standing at the stoves with their hair on fire!

Then there is our secret weapon, the truly superb front of house team. Whilst the pub is lauded for it's food and drink, the compliments abound for our staff. They thrive on being busy, yet always keep their wit and humour with them and manage to make every customer feel special. As The Saturday Telegraph put it "this place has the same sort of feel-good factor as a Richard Curtis movie."
